Lewis, Charles Newton

C. N. Lewis, aged 79 dropped dead while splitting wood at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carrie Begner, at 6th and Monroe streets, about 10:00 o’clock Wednesday morning. Mr. Lewis has been in good health and it is presumed that a sudden attack of heart trouble was responsible for his death. He has been a resident of Oregon City for the past eleven years, coming here from Kansas. Besides his daughter, the deceased leaves seven other children. He was a member of the local G. A. R. post.
