Robert Josiah Stroup.
Oregon City, Or., Feb. 25. – (Special) – Robert Josiah Stroup, 81 died today at his home in Gladstone. He was born March 11, 1847, in Pennsylvania.
He enlisted with company A, 140th Illinois infantry during the civil war and took part in some of the major engagements. He came west a number of years ago and since that time has been an active member of Meade post, G. A. R. of Oregon City.
Mr. Stroup was unmarried. He is survived by a brother, Lloyd Stroup of Iowa, and by a nephew, Edward Stroup, of Woodward, Ia.
