WALKER – At his home in this city, Wednesday, November 17, 1897, of erysipelas, Franklin L. Walker, aged 53 years and 6 months.
Deceased had been a resident of Oregon City for about five years and had been acting as a butcher for Charles Albright. He was a bachelor and had no relatives in this country so far as known. He was a member of Meade Post, No. 2, G. A. R. under whose auspices the funeral was conducted at Willamette hall Thursday afternoon. Dr. T. W. Butler of the Congregational Church preached the sermon, after which the simple and beautiful ritualistic service of the Grand Army was given by the members of that organization and the remains taken to Mountain View cemetery and laid to their final rest.
